We’re thrilled to share exciting news about the LemonAid App, a project that’s been in development to bring support, connection, and creative tools to grieving kids everywhere.
The idea for the app began when Sophia entered the Congressional App Challenge, inspired to take her grief workbook and transform it into an interactive resource that could reach more kids. The LemonAid App brings the pages of Lemons to Lemonade: A Grief Workbook to life, offering tools for emotional healing, peer support, and creative expression—all at your fingertips.
Why the App Matters
For kids who may not have access to grief support programs in their area, the LemonAid App will provide a lifeline. It’s also a fantastic way for our campers to stay connected after the transformative experience of Lemons to Lemonade Grief Camp. Whether it’s journaling, finding encouragement, or sharing memories, the app is designed to be a comforting companion for kids navigating their grief journey.
Sophia and Avery believe this app has the potential to redefine grief support for kids in our community—and beyond. But they can’t do it alone.
Sophia’s Favorite Features
Sophia’s favorite parts of the app? She has two:
- Lemon Tunes: A space where kids can create playlists inspired by the memory of their loved ones. Music can be a powerful way to heal, and this feature allows kids to download songs that remind them of their special person and share them with others.
- Support Tree: A beautiful, interactive feature that looks like a growing family tree. Kids can add the names of the people in their support system and even send messages directly through the app. It’s a visual reminder of how much love and support they have around them, even during difficult times.
Sophia shares, “I love how the Support Tree brings a sense of connection and gratitude. It’s like a reminder that you’re never really alone. And Lemon Tunes is just fun—it makes you feel close to your loved one when you listen to music that reminds you of them.”
Partnering for Impact
We’re working hard to bring the LemonAid App to life, but we know that teaming up with a local tech company could take this project to the next level. Imagine combining the heart of Lemons to Lemonade with the innovation of a forward-thinking tech partner to create a platform that reaches grieving kids everywhere.
