Grief Camps & Programs

Where Healing Meets Fun

Turning Sour Lemons into Sweet Memories

At Lemons to Lemonade Grief Camp, every day is an adventure packed with creativity, connection, and unexpected delights. From cuddles with therapy dogs to creating their very own stuffed animal at a Build-A-Bear workshop, campers enjoy moments that bring joy and calm while honoring their loved ones. Through meaningful crafts, games, and friendships, kids leave with cherished memories and a deeper sense of hope.

Grief doesn’t have to feel heavy. At our camp, kids realize they’re not alone and that it’s okay to feel all their emotions. They’ll meet others just like them who understand their journey and find the courage to turn their grief into resilience — and even fun.

Building Resilience Together

Grief Camps

Our week-long summer camps provide grieving children with a supportive environment where they can build friendships, share experiences, and participate in uplifting activities designed to foster resilience, confidence, and connection. Through art, outdoor activities, mentorship, and community, campers are reminded that they are never alone in their journey.

Meetups & Community Support

Our meetups are a growing part of the Lemons to Lemonade community, creating ongoing opportunities for grieving children and teens to stay connected throughout the year. With the support of our Teen Advisory Team, grieving teens are now helping mentor and build meaningful connections with younger grieving children — creating a community rooted in understanding, resilience, and shared experiences.

This growing initiative is supported alongside Child Life Specialist and grief counselor Colleen Cherry, MS, CCLS, CT, and grief specialist Becky Lomaka, MA, FT, whose guidance continues to help shape meaningful experiences for grieving children and families throughout our community.

Resilience Resources

Lemons to Lemonade provides creative grief support resources designed to help children express emotions, honor loved ones, and navigate grief with resilience, hope, and connection.

One of these resources includes Lemons to Lemonade: A Grief Workbook, written by founder Sophia Donald and inspired by the childhood grief support she received through The Centers for Good Grief.

Through our relationship with The Centers for Good Grief and our affiliation with Eluna Network, families also have access to an expanded library of trusted grief support resources, educational materials, camps, and community programs available through our Resources tab.

The Lemons to Lemonade Experience

Programming is designed to help kids build friendship, confidence, and resilience in a supportive and uplifting environment.

Creative Activities

Hands-on projects encourage creativity and self-expression while honoring loved ones in meaningful ways. From painting canvases to memory projects and fun crafts, campers have the opportunity to create something meaningful while simply enjoying the moment.

Friendship & Connection

Friendship is one of the most meaningful parts of camp. Kids meet others who truly understand, creating real connections that help them feel supported, included, and not alone.

Celebration of Growth

We wrap up the week with the Lemons to Lemonade Fair — a joyful celebration filled with games, laughter, and special moments. Campers leave with happy memories, new friendships, and a growing sense of resilience.
